My sketch book is all coming together now! Been busy researching all the areas that have made north Wales my sense of place. I have looked at the welsh language, scenery, horse riding, day trips, memories, tourism, culture and my family. I have looked at them all in detail and what they contibute to my sense of place. I have found facts, information, personal influences and pictures of each area. This has taken up the majority of my sketch book as it is important to explore what it is that makes a sense of place and look at the history and facts of those ideas, particualry places that I have been on day trips and attract tourism. I found that naming the different ideas that make up my sense of place and reseraching their history, finding out the information about the place etc brought together more information and character about a place rather than just saying "culture contributes making north wales a sense of place as there is alot of it in north wales." By naming the different parts of culture that are displayed in north wales and looking at their traditional backgrounds, it provides more depth and understanding to my reasons. I have now decided that my final piece will be a lovespoon. I now need to research a lovespoon artist and look at how I need to make one. Will blog again later xxx
